This is a lovely snack or starter for vegetarians. It tastes truly delicious and it extremely easy to make. You can serve it as an appetiser or a part of a main dish. 

Stir Fried Spicy Tofu

Serves 2

 

Ingredients

 

1 Pack Tofu- 396g

1tbsp Oil

1tbsp Dark Soy Sauce

3 Large Spring Onions

1tbsp Garlic and Ginger Paste

1tsp Sugar

2tbsp Tomato Ketchup

1tbsp Chilli Sauce

Sprinkle of Chilli Flakes

Salt to taste

 

Method

Drain all the water out of the tofu by leaving it on a strainer for half an hour. Once all the water is drained, cut the tofu into bite size cubes.

In a wide non stick wok and the oil and then sauté the onions, garlic and ginger paste for a few minutes. Whenever you cook on a wok the heat should be fairly high as you need only to stir fry them quickly to maintain its goodness and retain the freshness. Add the tofu and again stir fry them until they get a slight golden colour. Once they have taken on a nice colour add all the other ingredients and give it a stir and allow frying for a few minutes.

Serve hot!
