This is the quickest Tiramisu that you can make. It tastes delicious and requires no hard work! You can make this dessert a day in advance as it will become lovely and moist and will taste better. Great for large dinner parties and sure to impress.


Serves 4-6


16 Trifle Sponges- (These are wider and thin)

250g Fresh Vanilla Custard

500g Mascarpone Cheese

A Dash of any Liqueur- I Have used a Cuban Coffee Liqueur

Strong Black Coffee, Without Sugar- (enough to dip the sponges in)

Cocoa Powder for Sprinkling


Empty the mascarpone cheese into a bowl and add the custard to it. With a hand whisk start to mix until smooth and of spreadable consistency. Take the coffee in another bowl and add a dash of liqueur. Mix well.

Take a clear rectangle dish (Check collection of Corelle) or any dish that you may have; dip each sponge into the coffee and immediately take it out and arrange half the sponges next to each other in the dish. Reserve the rest.  Spread half the mascarpone mixture on top of the sponges. Repeat the rest of the sponges with the coffee and arrange on top of the mascarpone mixture. Again spread the mixture on top. Refrigerate for a day as the sponges will become nice and moist. When you are ready to serve, sprinkle the cocoa powder evenly on top and serve. Delicious!
